GCSE Students at Tonbridge Grammar School celebrate outstanding results

Students at Tonbridge Grammar School (TGS) are celebrating following the release of the first fully examined GCSEs since 2019.  The examination results achieved by our students are excellent and stand testimony to the tenacity and engagement of this cohort of Year 11 students who have coped admirably with the turbulence and disruption to their education over the past two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Tonbridge Grammar School continues its record of exceptional GCSE results with 94% (82% - 2019) of the cohort achieving 5 or more grades at 9-7.  Fifteen students were awarded ten or more grade 9s and 48 students received ten or more grades 8 or 9.  54% of students achieved ten or more subjects at grades 9 - 7.  88% (74% - 2019) of all GCSE grades were at grades 9-7, with 45% (24% - 2019) at grade 9 and 71% (51% - 2019) at grade 8 or 9.

Rosemary Joyce, Head Teacher at Tonbridge Grammar School, said: ‘Warmest congratulations to all our Year 11 students celebrating their outstanding GCSE results today.  Our students should feel so very proud of their achievements which undoubtedly reflect their determination and dedicated work to overcome the challenges imposed by the pandemic.  Their results are a triumph reflecting both their intellectual capacity and resilience.   Congratulations also to our team of dedicated staff who have once again supported students to achieve such success'.
