On the 11 November at 11am Tonbridge Grammar School staff and pupils joined together in silence to remember all those who have died in all wars.

Students and staff gathered at the flagpole to hear the Last Post played movingly by Ellie in Year 11 honouring those who made sacrifices on our behalf.

This was preceded by an assembly which students and staff together commemorated the many facets of Remembrance including the recent unveiling of the first war memorial to Sikh soldiers and the bravery of Squadron Leader Arthur Scarf who was awarded the only Victoria Cross to the RAF for their service in the Far East. The assembly finished with the Exhortation in French, Spanish, Japanese, German and English emphasising that remembrance is for all and of all.

Students and staff were also invited to share the stories of relatives and loved ones who were involved in conflicts since 1900. Many participated and the information shared has been displayed in the foyer and has formed a personal and moving tribute from the TGS Community.

In their Learning Mentor time all students were provided with the opportunity to make poppies. These have been displayed on the windows of the foyer and Library and they have formed a beautiful and reflective tribute.
