Debating Team are through to next round of ESU Public Speaking Competition

Congratulations to the team who are through to the next round of the competition; the largest public speaking competition for schools in England and Wales for students in years 9-11.

Amelie (Year 10) explains more:

Over the last few months myself and several other year 10 and 11 students have been preparing for the ESU Public Speaking Competition. The first round took place on 1 December.  It was an amazing experience and helped all of us improve on our debating and public speaking skills . The speaker on our team, Shreya, spoke on the topic 'Prescription charges should be abolished'.

We were delighted to get through to the next round which takes place in early February.

'It was really rewarding to get through after all our hard work. We are so excited for the next round!’

Oreva-Oghene, Year 10

I was so impressed with the team's performance. They are a real credit to the school and I am looking forward to working with them for the next round of the competition. Congratulations to all the students involved.
