Congratulations to Year 13 students who, as this year’s UCAS cycle closes, hold an average of 3.9 university offers each

97% of students hold at least two offers, 72% hold at least four offers and a third of students hold 5 offers.  

Offers include 33 from the University of Leeds, 30 from the University of Nottingham and 27 from the University of Exeter. Students have been successful in securing offers from other highly prestigious universities, including 2 from Cambridge, 4 from Oxford, 5 from  London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), 4 from Imperial College London, 6 from Loughborough University, 17 from Durham University, 26 from the University of Bath, 17 from University College London and 12 from the University of Warwick. 

Subjects applied for are varied and include Engineering, Biological Sciences, English, Accounting, Psychology, Medicine, Geography, Law and Modern Languages. 

Those who have applied for Medicine and Veterinary Medicine have had a 100% success rate of getting at least one medical school place, with 3 students receiving offers from all of their medical/vet schools. Offer locations include Cardiff University, Hull York Medical School, Keele University, Queen Mary University of London, Queen’s University Belfast, Royal Vetinerary College, University of Bristol, University of East Anglia, University of Nottingham, University of Leeds, University of Leicester, University of Liverpool, University of Manchester, University of Plymouth, University of Sheffield and University of Surrey 

Those applying to Oxbridge have been successful in securing offers to read PPE, Law, Geography, English and French, Chemistry and Psychological and Behavioural Sciences. 

We have had students successfully apply for universities in Ireland, France, Germany, Finland and Hong Kong for a range of subjects including Medicine, Engineering, Physics and Economics 

Congratulations to our Year 13 students. It is wonderful to see the wide range of universities and courses our students have been offered. Some of them had to go through rigorous interviews and assessments to secure their offers and it is fantastic to see that the preparation and hard work has paid off.

Footnote: Students at TGS have a full programme of support available to them both before and throughout the UCAS application process from a team of experienced professionals that include our Higher Education Coordinator, Oxbridge Coordinator, Medics/Dentists/Vets Co-ordinator, TGS Alumni and the Sixth Form pastoral team.
