UCAS update

logo

We’re incredibly proud of our Year 13 students who have completed their UCAS applications (with the support of our dedicated teachers, Higher Education and Careers Co-ordinator, Careers Leader and Sixth Form Team).  They applied for a wide variety of degrees, degree apprenticeships and places at conservatoires and art schools.

Courses applied for include Classics, Mechanical Engineering, Law, Medicine, Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, Biology and Economics to name but a few. Institutions applied to stretch geographically from Exeter to Edinburgh, USA to Hong Kong and France to the Netherlands.

We are delighted to announce that some of our early applicants have heard back from universities with considerable success. 10% of the cohort hold offers from Oxford or Cambridge and those applying for Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine have been receiving invitations to interview.

Year 12 students’ university application journey began in earnest before half term with the ‘Aim High’ event for parents and students; it outlined the programme of support available to them and featured guest speakers from university admissions departments.  Students have also attended workshops on associated areas including an in-depth look at how to choose the best course and university for them and student finance.
