Students who will be studying IB Biology next year explore the genetics of taste and learn about studying Marine Biology at university

Students enjoyed exploring the genetics of taste and why some people think coriander tastes soapy. After understanding how the alleles cause a change in the receptor, everyone worked in groups to create a diagram using plasticine.

To finish the event, Caitlin (a TGS alumna) who went on to study Marine Biology at university spoke about her studies and how she values having studied IB Biology.

Year 12 student Olivia spoke about how she is finding the IB Biology course and explained how it differed to GCSE.
