U14 Football Team secure a place in the second round of the Kent Schools Cup

In wet and windy conditions, Tonbridge Grammar School (TGS) secured a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Sevenoaks School in the first round of the Kent Cup. Despite TGS making a strong start to the game, Sevenoaks' stern defence and outstanding goalkeeper kept the score level at 0-0 for much of the first half.

The deadlock was finally broken just before half-time, thanks to relentless pressing from Molly, who took her chance with a quick snapshot to give TGS the lead. The second half followed a similar pattern, with TGS creating opportunities but being denied by some remarkable saves from the Sevenoaks goalkeeper. Natalie was particularly unlucky after forcing an incredible reflex save.

The decisive moment came when Charlotte, starting a play from left-back, found Molly in space. Molly cut the ball back to Orla, who calmly slotted the ball home from six yards out, securing the 2-0 victory.

Player of the match was Scarlett, who commanded the game from the back, linking up brilliantly with the rest of the team. Her solid defensive performance ensured TGS kept a clean sheet and moved forward in the competition.

This win sees the U14s join the U15s in the second round of the Kent Schools Cup. A big thank you to Sevenoaks School for hosting.
