CAS Story: Macmillan Charity Bake Sale raises £200

Well done to Sixth Form students who held a bake sale to raise money for the charity Macmillan Cancer Support as part of the Creativity Activity Service component of the IB Diploma Programme.  Tilly (Y13) explains more:

We got in touch with Macmillan prior to the event and they sent us bunting, balloons and a tablecloth. We set up the bake sale with all the green Macmillan signage and cakes that students brought in.

The cakes were not given a fixed price, but a realistic donation was encouraged. The money raised will be sent off to Macmillan, hoping we can make a small difference to someone's life. Cancer is an extremely challenging disease that is suffered globally, it is important that we donate to charities that provide support for these people.

The bake sale was a huge success and we raised £200 in 15 minutes. The students were very generous with their donations and, as a result, we exceeded our expectations in raising money for a charity that undertakes invaluable work.
