Year 8 Drama students discover the artistry behind special effects make up

The entire Year 8 Drama cohort had a hands-on workshop with professional makeup artist Emma Sandys, learning to create realistic bruises, cuts, stitches, and boils.

Under Sandys' guidance, the students discovered the artistry behind special effects makeup and how it can enhance stage performances.

The session gave them practical experience in applying the techniques, sparking a new interest in special effects as a storytelling tool. The workshop helped expand the students’ creative skills and understanding of the dramatic arts.

I absolutely loved the workshop. It really opened my mind and I really enjoyed learning new skills.

Isabella, Year 8

The students thoroughly enjoyed this experience and we were delighted that they learnt so much!
