This winter season has been an incredibly successful and competitive one for Tonbridge Grammar School, with over 300 students representing the school across a total of 76 fixtures, 11 tournaments, and 8 meets. Our teams have shown remarkable commitment, determination, and skill across various sports, achieving outstanding results.

Netball had a strong season, with 33 matches played and five tournaments entered. The U12 team came close to reaching the finals, while the U13s secured an impressive third place. The U14s narrowly missed out on qualification, losing their deciding match by just one goal. The U16s reached the prestigious Kent County Finals Day, and the U19s also performed well at county level, demonstrating the school’s continued strength in netball.

Hockey teams were equally competitive, playing 22 matches and competing in four tournaments, with two of our teams reaching finals. The U12s finished as runners-up at counties and impressed at regionals against strong opposition. The U13s also had a solid performance at the county tournament in Canterbury, while the U14s made it to the semi-finals. A standout achievement came from the U16s, who finished second at regionals, hosted here at TGS, after successfully progressing from the county tournament.

Football continues to thrive at TGS, with 17 matches played across multiple age groups. The U13 team finished in the top two at the West Kent, St Gregory's Tournament, while all four teams—U12s, U13s, U14s, and U15s—competed for the first time in the Kent Cup, putting on fantastic displays. The U13s suffered a heartbreaking 3-2 loss in injury time during their quarter-final, and the U15s battled their way to the final, marking an excellent season for TGS football.

Swimming had another successful season, competing in three meets. Our students represented the school strongly at the Kent Individual and Relay Championships in Margate and at a meet hosted at KC, demonstrating impressive individual and team performances throughout the season.

Cricket saw the U13 and U15 teams perform exceptionally well at the Kent Indoor Championships at Sevenoaks School. Both teams proved to be highly competitive, showcasing their talent and determination but were unfortunate not able to reach the finals despite their strong efforts.

Cross Country saw fantastic achievements, with TGS competing in four meets. The U13 girls secured a remarkable victory, winning The Wesson Cup at Skinners’ School, and finished second at the Kent Cross Country Championships, qualifying for regionals. The U15 team also performed strongly at the Kent Championships and earned a place at regionals. Additionally, there were outstanding individual performances in both the Junior and Senior Knole Run, highlighting the depth of talent in long-distance running at TGS.

This has been an outstanding winter season for TGS sports, with students showcasing talent, teamwork, and resilience across all competitions. We look forward to building on this success in the upcoming summer seasons!
