Year 10

Out of many amazing moments at this school, I feel that the Bewl Water trip was the best, as there was a variety of activities to participate in, especially the canoeing, as it was perfect for the hot weather.

What do you enjoy most about being at TGS?

What I enjoy the most at TGS is the variety of things to do, whether it be in lesson or at lunch, as well as the special friendships I have developed over my time here. In addition, I really value how I can talk to a teacher about an issue or problem and be assured that they will be able to sort something out for me.

Which subject is your favourite, and why?

For me, there are many subjects which I enjoy, however in particular I am fascinated by Maths and Visual Arts.  Maths because it is interesting, and Visual Arts because the tasks done in class are always fun and engaging.

What co-curricular clubs and activities do you enjoy, and why?

In Year 7 and 8, I would always go to the summer tennis club. I really liked this because you could freely have a match and it was a way of practising tennis yet at the same time bonding with your friends too. Although this club is not open for Year 9, there are a variety of other sports clubs and general clubs to attend at lunch, such as the school orchestra, which I recently joined.

What advice would you give someone thinking of joining TGS?

A piece of advice I would definitely give is to start going to the lunchtime clubs in Year 7 or 8, rather than only starting to go in Year 9, as it really builds a strong foundation for friendships.

What do you hope to do after TGS?

Although I am still unsure, I hope to pursue something involving History or Maths, such as Law, yet there are still so many opportunities.
