Head Teacher Welcome

We are a high achieving selective grammar school with academy status, educating girls between the ages of 11 and 16, and girls and boys in our Sixth Form.

Our school community encourages all students to reach their potential in a caring environment where wellbeing is the priority. Rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted our broad, balanced and challenging curriculum allows for the development of key skills enabling our students to explore, question and build resilience.  

We provide an international education, following the curriculum and principles of the International Baccalaureate both in the Middle Years and Sixth Form.  

In addition, we offer a wide range of co-curricular activities offering many opportunities to develop important artistic, sporting, musical and linguistic skills.

We are very proud of the academic successes of our students at GCSE and in the IB Diploma, with the majority of our Sixth Form going on to study at top universities including Oxford and Cambridge.   

Opportunities to develop life skills, independence and critical thinking are offered regularly, empowering students to make a real difference in the world.  Each and every member of the school community is supported to flourish and be happy.  

I hope our website provides a ‘flavour’ of what TGS has to offer. However, there is no substitute for visiting us in person, and we warmly welcome you to one of our Open Events to meet our Students, Staff and the wider school community.
